On the eighth day of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games in men’s wheelchair basketball, Turkey lost 52-45 to the last Paralympic champion USA in the quarterfinals.

In the match played at the Ariake Arena, “12 Brave Hearts” faced the USA, which they lost in the semi-finals of the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.

Starting the game very well, Turkey went ahead 18-11 in the first quarter where it defended well. The national team went 26-25 in the locker room.

In the match, which was quite contentious, USA finished the third quarter ahead 36-31. At the end of the match, the USA did not make mistakes in tactical fouls against the national team, which reduced the difference to 2 (43-41) and left the field with a 52-45 victory.

While the USA advances to the semi-finals, Turkey will fight for the 5th place.
