Defender Tua Tagovailoa joined the game for the Miami Dolphins after Jacoby Brissette injured his right knee early in the third quarter; Tagovailoa scored late in the fourth quarter with a one-yard run and put an end to the game.

The Miami Dolphins stunned the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night soccer, coming out 22-10 winners in a defensive battle.

Howard’s tally put Miami ahead 15-3, although the Ravens retreated within five of their hosts when Lamar Jackson found Mark Andrews for a five-yard touchdown with four minutes and 12 seconds remaining.

But Delphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who entered the game after Jacoby Brissette injured his right knee early in the third quarter, scored in the next one-yard streak and ended the game. Tagovailoa missed Miami’s last two games with a fractured middle finger on his shooting hand.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson made 26 of 43 assists for 238 yards and one touchdown in a tough game. He ran 39 yards but was sacked four times and intercepted the ball with 43 seconds remaining.

Baltimore receiver Sammy Watkins has had several high-priced rallies, including losing a fumble returned by Howard in the fourth quarter. In the first quarter, Watkins was also unable to handle a nimble pass from the back of the end zone, and the Ravens had to be content with a shot from the field – Justin Tucker opened the scoring.

But Tucker missed 48 yards on his next possession of Baltimore to catch a streak of 14 successful field goals. Meanwhile, the Dolphins took the lead 9-3 early in the fourth quarter with Jason Sanders’ boot, as both attacks were otherwise unsuccessful.

Dolphins offensive lineman Robert Hunt technically made a sensational touchdown ahead of Sanders’ third of these shots, only because of his outstanding effort, which did not count because he was not listed as eligible. However, Miami will score an opening touchdown thanks to Howard a few moves later.

The Ravens (6-3) entered the game as seven-point favorites, but were off for most of the night. Meanwhile, Miami (3-7) won their second straight win in a bad season.
