Yorkshire’s Harry Brook joined the team in place of the Warwickshire starter, who will spend the winter working on his home batting in a bid to join his 22 England Trials; Sibley was eliminated in early summer as his poor form continued against India.

Dom Sibley from Warwickshire has decided not to tour Australia with the England Lions this winter to focus on regaining his probationary position.
The 26-year-old Sibley was eliminated following August’s second test loss to India, a game in which he followed a score of 11 in the first inning with a second inning to continue a losing streak to produce fifty in. 15 strokes.
His inclusion in the Lions squad, which will complement Joe Root’s Ashes squad this winter, was a clear indication that he remains in England’s plans.
But the ECB has now confirmed that the starter will not make the trip but “will spend the winter working on his hitting at home in an attempt to win back the England team.”
His spot on the Lions trip goes to Harry Brook of Yorkshire, who scored 797 first-class runs this summer with a 37.95 average.
The Lions will fly to Australia on November 4 and join the England Ashes team at a camp in Queensland, where the group will play two matches within the team and face Australia A in a four-day match.
