There are strange developments for Anadolu Efes and Turkish media members before the EuroLeague Final Four to be held in Cologne. German Consulate in Istanbul; Anadolu Efes board members do not grant visas to athletes’ families and members of the media.
There is a big scandal ahead of the EuroLeague Final Four, which will be held in Cologne, Germany between May 28-30. Germany rejected the visa application filed by Anadolu Efes board members and athletes’ families. At the same time, the main sponsors of the Euroleague, the beIN SPORTS employees, which is the broadcaster, as well as other media members who will follow the other organization, are not granted visas.
Despite the efforts of the Euroleague officials and the Municipality of Cologne, a positive result could not be obtained, it was a great surprise that Germany, which organized an international tournament, did not receive international press.
As in football, the consensus emerged that the Euroleague should take the tournament somewhere other than Cologne, and the view that ‘the Final Four should be taken from Cologne just as the Champions League Final was taken from Istanbul’ gained weight …
While the spouses and children of Italian and Spanish athletes can be found in the Final Four, the directors and media members as well as the families of Turkish athletes will not be able to follow this event.
The German government is expected to abandon this scandalous decision as soon as possible …
