In the statement made on the website of the Boston Celtics, it was stated that 43-year-old Nigerian-American coach Ime Udoka was brought to the position of head coach vacated by Brad Stevens.
Playing in the NBA for 7 years in his basketball career, Udoka has worked as an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs, Philadelphia 76ers and most recently the Brooklyn Nets since 2012.
The Celtics, under Brad Stevens, finished the regular season in 7th place in the Eastern Conference and were eliminated by the Nets in the first round of the playoffs. Stevens later became head of basketball operations with the Celtics.
