Jerry Jones has been the owner, president and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys since 1989, with three Super Bowl wins during his tenure, although the last came in the 1995 season.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was involved in a minor car accident Wednesday night in Dallas and was taken to a local hospital for precautionary measures.

A television station in Dallas initially reported that Jones had been in an accident shortly before 8:10 p.m. local time. An ambulance was called to the scene and Jones was reported to have suffered minor injuries. It is not known if a 79-year-old man was driving.

A Dallas police spokesman said the department does not release the names of those involved in accidents, except in fatal cases.

Jones has been owner, president and general manager of the Cowboys since 1989, overseeing three Super Bowl wins during his tenure, although the last came in the 1995 season.

Since then, Dallas has failed to return to the Super Bowl, winning just four playoff games in the past 26 years. They lost to the San Francisco 49ers earlier this year in the Wild Card playoff round.
