Our National Men’s National Basketball Team matched with Greece, Belarus and England in the 2023 FIBA World Cup European Qualifiers.
The FIBA 2023 World Cup European Qualification draw took place at the Patrick Baumann Basketball House in Switzerland. According to the draw, the A Men’s National Basketball Team will compete against Belarus, Great Britain and Greece in Group B in the FIBA 2023 World Cup European Qualifiers.
The groups formed after the draw are as follows:
Group A: Serbia, Latvia, Belgium, Slovakia
Group B: TURKEY, Greece, Great Britain, Belarus
Group C: Slovenia, Croatia, Finland, Sweden
Group D: Germany, Poland, Israel, Estonia
Group E: France, Montenegro, Hungary, Portugal
Group F: Lithuania, Czechia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria
Group G: Spain, Ukraine, Georgia, North Macedonia
Group H: Italy, Russia, Netherlands, Iceland
In partnership with Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines, the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, which will be held two years later, will be hosted by more than one country for the first time.
The qualifying process for the FIBA 2023 Basketball World Cup will consist of 6 windows that will be played over 15 months in Africa, America, Asia/Oceania and Europe. The qualifiers will start on November 22, 2021 and end on February 28, 2023.
At the end of the 3 windows to be played, the countries that complete their groups in the first three places will advance to the second round by carrying their points and will be placed in a new group with three countries from the other group. The best three teams in 4 groups of 6 will qualify for the World Cup, with a total of 12 teams.
The competition dates are as follows:
1st Window Matches: 22-30 November 2021
2nd Window Matches: 21 February–1 March 2022
3rd Window Matches: 27 June–5 July 2022
4th Window Matches: 22-30 August 2022
5th Window Matches: 7-15 November 2022
6. Window Matches: February 20-28, 2023
