Manisa Metropolitan Belediyespor won the Men’s Federation Cup in basketball, beating Samsunspor 78-77 in the final.
Samsunspor and Manisa Metropolitan Belediyespor met in the final of the Men’s Federation Cup in basketball. In the first part of the first period, Manisa Metropolitan Belediyespor scored with Watkins and Williamson, while Samsunspor countered with Friday and Mert Gizir and the 7th minute was tied 10-10. In the remaining part of the period, Samsunspor was trying to be effective from the painted area, while the Aegean representative was ahead 21-17 in the first quarter with Watkins’ numbers from outside shots.
Starting the second period more effectively, Manisa Metropolitan Belediyespor made 9 points difference in the 14th minute, bringing the score to 33-24. In the remaining minutes of the second quarter, the Aegean representative, who played well against his opponent by defending well, completed the circuit 39-34 superiorly.
In the third quarter, Samsunspor, who made a more effective man-to-man defense and scored points from under the basket, equalized the score in the 25th minute: 44-44. Producing points with Ercan Bayrak in this challenging quarter, Samsunspor managed to take the lead by 49-48 in the 27th minute. However, in the remaining minutes of the quarter, the Aegean representative, who was effective with Berkay Sinirlioğlu, was ahead 54-51 in the final period.
In the first part of the fourth quarter, Samsunspor scored with Friday from outside shots, while Manisa Metropolitan Belediyespor responded with Watkins. In the quarter where there was a head-to-head match, Samsunspor took the lead 77-76 with Frazier with 17 seconds left in the game. However, 4 seconds before the end of the match, Manisa Metropolitan Belediyespor managed to take the lead 78-77 with the free throws he used with Koray Uzunhasan and the match ended with this score.
At the ceremony held after the match, the trophy of Manisa Metropolitan Belediyespor and the medals of the players were presented by Ömer Onan, the top manager of the Turkish Basketball Federation.
