Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu visited the Wheelchair Basketball Men’s National Team and Archery Team athletes preparing for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games at the camp centers in Kocaeli and Istanbul.
Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu continues to pay support visits to national athletes preparing for Tokyo 2020. Minister Kasapoğlu, who visited the national athletes before the Tokyo 2020 Olympics held on 23 July – 8 August, this time paid a visit to the national athletes preparing for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, which will be held on 24 August – 5 September.
Minister Kasapoğlu met with the Wheelchair Basketball Men’s National Team
Minister Kasapoğlu first visited the Wheelchair Basketball Men’s National Team, which was camping at a hotel in Kocaeli Kartepe. Minister Kasapoğlu, who has been watching the training of national basketball players who have been in the camp since 4 August, received information about the preparatory work.
After the training, Minister Kasapoğlu had a private conversation with the Wheelchair Basketball Men’s National Team players. Minister Kasapoğlu expressed his belief in the national basketball players who will participate in the Paralympic games for the third time in their history and wished them success.
Ahmet Akın: Our Minister strengthened us with his visit
Wheelchair Basketball National Team Head Coach Ahmet Akın, who made a statement during the visit, stated that the Tokyo 2020 preparation process was very productive and said, “In this process, our Minister of Youth and Sports, Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, visited our camp and honored us and added strength by making us feel their support during the Paralympic Games. My Team I would like to thank our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the great supporter of Turkish sports, our Ministry of Youth and Sports and all our stakeholders in this process.By representing our country in the most successful way at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, I would like to make our people a little bit happy in these difficult times our country is in. We intend to do so,” he said.
Minister Kasapoğlu visited the national archers
Minister Kasapoğlu later met with the national archers camping at the Riva Facilities of the Istanbul Archers Foundation. Following the training of the national archers who have been in the camp since 3 August, Minister Kasapoğlu received information from the athletes and coaches about the preparatory work.
Later, Minister Kasapoğlu, who accompanied the athletes at dinner, talked to the nationals one by one. Minister Kasapoğlu, emphasizing that he is very hopeful for archery, as in all branches, at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, wished the national athletes success.
Özcan Ediz: We believe we will do great things in Tokyo
Turkish Physically Disabled Sports Federation Archery National Team Coach Özcan Ediz stated that Minister Kasapoğlu’s visit made them very happy and said, “The trust, sincerity and interest of our Minister was definitely very motivating. 3 coaches, 1 physiotherapist and 11 athletes competed immediately. “We hope to return to our country by representing our flag, our country and our nation, which has gone through a serious test with all kinds of difficulties, in the best possible way. We believe that we will do great things with the trust of our ministry and the trust of our athletes in themselves and in us.”
