Patrick Mahomes finished 29 of 48 passes for 275 yards, a touchdown and an interception as the Kansas City Chiefs limped to a win over the New York Giants and finished 4-4 year-on-year.

Harrison Butker’s 1.12 shot was enough for the Kansas City Chiefs to take a 20-17 win over the New York Giants after another shaky performance by quarterback Patrick Mahomes at Arrowhead on Monday night.

Magomez escaped a potentially catastrophic interception with 4.29 remaining after Darnay Holmes’ peak was struck out by an offside penalty against Oshain Ximines, clearing the way for the eventual winner of Butker’s game.

Daniel Jones finished 22 of 32 for 222 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for the Giants, while Magomez finished 29 of 48 assists for 275 yards, touchdowns and 10 interceptions this season.

The frantic start of the competition saw Magomes and Jones exchanged interceptions in a three-game space before the Chiefs turned their pick deep in Giant territory into their debut touchdown from Tyric Hill.

Magomes was still shy about his usual magic and felt happy at times, while the giants lacking a pass were also bewildered by their inability to attract Kadarius Tony.

New York hit back with Kiles Rudolph’s first touchdown for the franchise since arriving at the free agency, after which Derrick Gore capped some ground joy with a swift touchdown to bring the Chiefs back to the top spot, 14-7 in the second quarter.

The chiefs were punished for yet another pass when Travis Kelsey’s groping was transformed into Evan Engram’s breakaway touchdown with a 17-14 Giants lead early in the fourth, but the visitors continued to plunge on all sides like two Bootkers. Shots from the field helped Kansas City jump the line.

This will be a missed opportunity for the giants, who have successfully joined the trend of successive two-tiered covers designed to limit the threat of both Hill and Kelsey’s fragmented play, the latter of which was limited to just four catches. 27 yards a day.
