Sabadell signs their new ‘savior’: Pedro Munitis signs until the end of the season

ANDl Sabadell has incorporated Pedro Munitis as coach of the first team until the end of the season. The new harlequinado coach has experience on the benches of the Racing de Santander, Ponferradina, UCAM Murcia and Badajoz. In addition, in the ranks of Racing and Badajoz he has played the play-off for promotion to Second.

Munitis (Santander, 1975) made his debut on the benches, after a successful career as a player, in the 15/16 season with Racing de Santander, where he managed to qualify the team for the Play-Off promotion to Second Division after being in first position in the regular phase of the competition. Subsequently, he has gone through teams such as SD Ponferradina (16/17 season), UCAM Murcia (17/18 and 18/19) and Badajoz, where he played the express play-off in the 19/20 season in Marbella. So far, Munitis has led 115 games as coach, with a record of 52 wins, 29 draws and 34 losses.

As a player, he has a successful career with almost 500 games in the First Division distributed between the Racing de Santander, Deportivo de la Coruña and Real Madrid. With the white team he added a League achieved in the 2000-2001 season, a Champions League in 2001-2002 and a European Super Cup in 2002. As reported by the Catalan club on social networks, he will be accompanied on the bench by the former Harlequin player of the the 90’s, Manolo Sánchez. Sánchez has 40 league games in Segunda A between 90/91 and 92/93. He will also be joined by Josselin Juncker as an analyst. Munitis will arrive on Wednesday at Sabadell and this afternoon he will conduct his first training session at the head of the first Harlequin team.
