Slovenia made it to Group C in men’s Saitama Super Arena by beating the host Japan 116-81 and Spain by defeating Argentina 81-71. Both of these teams were guaranteed to reach the quarter-finals before the last matches.
In the Women’s Group A, Spain beat the last European champion Serbia 85-70 to make it two-for-one. Canada, on the other hand, won their first victory by beating South Korea 74-53.
