Slovenia beat Germany 94-70 to become first semi-finalist

On the 11th day of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Slovenia beat Germany 94-70 in the first quarter-finals of men’s basketball to advance to the semi-finals.

Completing the first period of the match played at Saitama Super Arena with a 25-14 lead, Slovenia also dominated the locker room 44-37.

Opening the gap in the second half, the Slovenes won the third period 66-54 and the match 94-70 and made their mark in the semi-finals.

The last European champion, Slovenia, experienced the happiness of reaching the semi-finals for the first time in Olympic history.

Slovenia’s NBA players Zoran Dragic and Luka Doncic were the names that carried their countries to the semi-finals. Dragic had 27 points, 4 assists, 6 rebounds, Doncic had 20 points, 11 assists, 8 rebounds.

In Germany, Maodo Lo scored 11 points and Niels Giffey scored 10 points, reaching double digits. Fenerbahce Beko’s player Danilo Barthel finished the game with 7 points.

Slovenia will face the winner of today’s Italy-France match in the semi-finals.
