The Pittsburgh Steelers rallied to beat the Baltimore Ravens home team 16-13; Kenny Pickett threw the game-winning touchdown pass to Nadja Harris; Pittsburgh still needs to beat Cleveland next weekend, and Miami and New England still need to lose to make the playoffs.
Kenny Pickett threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Nadji Harris to give the Pittsburgh Steelers a 16–13 victory over the Baltimore Ravens with less than a minute left to remain in the playoff race.
It was the first touchdown allowed by Baltimore at home in four games, and the Steelers (8–8) needed it to avoid elimination. Just like they needed Miami to lose to New England earlier in the day, which also happened.
Pittsburgh can now make the playoffs by defeating Cleveland next weekend if Miami and New England lose. They still have a lot to do, but on Sunday they did a lot.
Down 13–9, Pickett drove the Steelers 80 yards in 3:20 against their rivals with the season on the line. On the third and 8th of 10, the rookie broke free from the pressure and made an accurate pass to Harris, who slipped behind midfielder Rokuan Smith on the left touchline.
The Ravens (10-6) are heading to the playoffs, but now they need Buffalo to beat Cincinnati on Monday to win the AFC North.
Tyler Huntley gave a touchdown to Isaiah Most likely late in the first half, which was the only other touchdown in the game.
The Steelers need help to make the playoffs, but they’re in full control of another series. They have not had a loss since 2003 and have never had a loss under coach Mike Tomlin, now in his 16th season.
Pittsburgh’s Cam Hayward’s penalty resulted in the first touchdown of the game. With a 3-point late in the second quarter, the Steelers stopped Baltimore in third place, but Hayward was called out for needlessly rudeness when he was at the top of the pile. Rather than settle for a field goal, the Ravens hit another streak of downs on the Pittsburgh 7 with 11 seconds left.
On the next play, Huntley shot to the left for Likeley at the goal line, and Baltimore upped the tally by seven.
