Turkey defeated South Korea 80-70 in the first match of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games Group A wheelchair basketball.
Finishing the first quarter of the match played at Musashino Forest Sports Hall ahead 21-15, the national team went 38-33 at the halftime.
Ay-Yildizlılar won the match 80-70, in which they were ahead 57-48 in the third period.
Özgür Gürbulak became the top scorer of the national team with 25 points. Cho Seung-hyun’s 26 points could not prevent South Korea’s defeat.
In the group that Turkey started with a win, South Korea left the second match with a defeat.
Nationals will fight against Canada in the second match of the group at 05:15 CET tomorrow.
