In basketball, Spain’s representative Valencia won the 2021 FIBA Women’s Super Cup, beating Russian team UMMC Ekaterinburg 75-68.
Last season’s FIBA Women’s Europa League champion UMMC Ekaterinburg and FIBA Women’s European Cup winner Valencia faced off in the Super Cup match. The Spanish team, which was ahead 20-18 in the first quarter of the match played at Pabellon Municipal Fuente de San Luis hosted by Valencia, went ahead 40-34 in the locker room.
Maintaining its score advantage in the second half, Valencia won the third period 58-51 ahead of the game, winning 75-68 and took the trophy to its museum for the first time.
