Real Valladolid fans protest in Zorrilla against the change of shield

A Late this Thursday afternoon, the Federation of Supporters Clubs of Real Valladolid and the animation group Fondo Norte were the protagonists of a concentration in the outskirts of the José Zorrilla Stadium. It was attended by some 350 blanquivioletas followers, who protested the recent change of shield with chants such as ‘The shield is not touched’ and urging not to buy products in which it appears.

Both Mario Puertas, president of the association of supporters clubs, and Pablo Esteban, representative of North Fund, read some statements, speaking of “anger at seeing how the shield has been snatched away” and describing the Club’s decision as “unnecessary”, which “It clouds a happy moment after achieving promotion, it weakens the union in the social mass and makes people lose their identity with the symbols”.

Likewise, they asked the pucelana entity “to rethink its position” and “a consultation among its subscribers in order to restore the previous shield for the next season.” At the end of the act, they thanked the fans for their presence in “a first meeting called in just 24 hours”, making it clear that they have in mind to organize more protests and actions in the future if the Real Valladolid board does not back down .
