Men’s Under-18 National Team defeated Lithuania 64-61 in the quarter-finals of the FIBA Men’s Under-18 European Basketball Championship and advanced to the semi-finals.
The Under-18 Men’s National Team faced Lithuania in the quarter-finals of the FIBA Men’s Under-18 European Basketball Championship. Starting the game with a 10-0 series, Turkey won the first period 22-17. Retaining their superiority in the second period, Crescent-Stars managed to enter the locker room leading 32-17. Starting the third quarter with Berke and Özgür’s baskets, Turkey increased the lead to 9 points in the 22nd minute: 36-27. Then, against Turkey, with a series of 11-0, Lithuania established a 48-43 superiority. Lithuania finished the period ahead 48-45.
Responding with a 7-0 series to Lithuania, who had a 54-47 advantage by 7 points in the last 5 minutes of the match, Turkey caught a 54-54 draw with 3 minutes left. Finding consecutive points with Arda, Turkey took the lead 59-57 with 1 minute and 13 seconds left.
The moon-star team won the match, the last part of which was the scene of a great struggle, 64-61. Advancing to the semi-finals, Turkey will face Sovenya on Saturday, August 6th.
