With the 2022 NFL Draft fast approaching, Sky Sports is looking into the top players in another outstanding broad class of receivers, many of whom are expected to be selected early. You can watch the draft live on Sky Sports on Thursday night.

The wide class of receivers in the 2019 NFL Draft ushered in a new wave of young players, and in recent years we have been treated to quality players in this position.

The 2020 Special Class of the Draft has been rated potentially the best ever in both talent at the top and depth. Although he may not have established himself in those two categories yet, and the top player (Henry Ruggs) has dropped out of the league, success has been achieved.

Justin Jefferson is simply amazing. CeeDee Lamb reached the Pro Bowl. Ty Higgins seems to be rising. Jerry Judy, Brandon Aiyuk, Michael Pittman and Chase Claypool – Starting Material.

Then 2021 was added to the personnel reserve. Ja’Marr Chase is the elite, and Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith have shown they are ready to compete at this level.

We now turn our attention to the 2022 group, who are highly appreciative of the talent they have. We have the possibility of five first rounds, maybe even six. There may be 12 receivers in the top 100 players, possibly even more.

So who are these players and what will they bring to the league?

Garrett Wilson, Ohio State

When it comes to clean profiles, Wilson ticks the boxes. He was a five-star rookie after graduating from high school, played collegiate ball in a major program, produced there (19 starts, 143 receptions, 2,213 yards, and 23 touchdowns), and impressed the pre-draft process.

On the field, he has been compared to Stephon Diggs for his trail-running prowess and explosive athleticism (he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds on the Scouting Combine to prove his speed). He is highly competitive and offers versatility, playing a lot both in and out of the slot. Wilson could be in the top 10.
