It’s officially draft week! And as we prepare for the 2022 NFL Draft 1st Round on Thursday night, here we take a look at the most egregious gaps in the rosters each of the 32 teams will be looking to fill over the next few days. Las Vegas…
Russell Wilson has a lot of offensive ingredients to be able to “cook” with his new team after the Seahawks’ blockbuster quarterback trade – Jerry Judy, Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick make up a wide receiver trio – but he could probably do with a new tight target after Noah Fant’s departure to the other side of the trade.
Plus, with the team trading long-time defensive star Von Miller last year, the Broncos should be looking for his long-term replacement this draft and pair him with promising (but often hurt) Bradley Chubb.
Kansas City Chiefs – wide receiver
He may be only 5ft 10in, small by NFL standards, but Tyreke Hill left behind a pretty significant hole in Kansas City’s offense after his trade to the Dolphins. The Chiefs did their best to make up for the loss by adding slot wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster from the Steelers and serious player Marquez Valdez-Scantling from the Packers, but Patrick Mahomes loves to throw the ball, so this team can always use more depth at the receiver, and they should target the new player with one of the two late picks in the first round.
Las Vegas Raiders – Midfielder
A quick look at the Raiders’ roster reveals there aren’t many gaps to fill, especially with the offseason arrivals of Davante Adams and Chandler Jones to bolster their receiving corps and pass rush, respectively. The offensive line may need to be strengthened while their midfield group is somewhat underwhelming, so it would be wise to add a second layer of their defense.
Los Angeles Chargers – Protective gear
The Chargers have already taken steps to bolster a defense that lost third in points per game (27) last season thanks to high-profile additions to Raiders and Pros three-time All-Pro linebacker Khalil Mak. Bowl quarterback JC Jackson of New England. But they could still use draft staffers in a defensive tackle to complete the set, given that it was their run defense that was particularly porous in 2021, coughing up a whopping 138.9 yards per game on the ground.
