Golden State Warriors player Andrew Wiggins, whose exemption request was rejected by the NBA administration, received a new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) vaccine.
Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr, in a statement after training, said that the 26-year-old Canadian striker had his vaccine and that this issue is now closed.
The NBA rejected the application of Wiggins, who requested exemption from the vaccine for religious reasons, and stated that the Golden State Warriors would not be able to play in the home games unless the vaccine was vaccinated.
The necessity for Kovid-19 vaccines in the USA is determined according to the decisions taken by the health department of the region where the teams are located. In San Francisco, where Golden State Warriors is affiliated, people aged 12 and over are required to attend indoor events with vaccinations.
Announcing that the vaccination rate in the league has reached 90 percent, the NBA has increased its measures regarding unvaccinated players.
The Warriors will face the Portland Trail Blazers tomorrow in their new pre-season practice game.
