Lhe Permanent Commission of the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport has agreed propose a very serious sanction of 60,000 euros to Club Atlético de Madrid for promoting and/or supporting the group called Frente Atléticoconsidered by the State Commission against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport as “group whose members have committed actions contrary to Law 19/2007”.
The Anti-Violence Commission reminds Club Atlético de Madrid and all sports clubs that Law 19/2007, of July 11, against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport includes, in its article 3.2.h, on measures to prevent violent, racist, xenophobic or intolerant acts, that the organizers of competitions and sporting events are obliged “not to provide or facilitate people or groups of followers who have incurred in the behaviors defined in the first and second sections of article 2 of this Law, means of transport, premises, subsidies, free tickets, discounts, advertising or dissemination or any other type of promotion or support of its activities”.
In addition, article 9.4, on the Record Book of Follower Activities, indicates that “Any type of support, coverage, provision of infrastructure or any type of resources to a group or group of fans of a club is prohibited, Regardless of whether or not they have legal personality, whether or not they are formalized as a supporters club or association, if the aforementioned group, its activities and those responsible are not included in the Registry Book and if it has ever committed offenses defined in this Law” .
Atlético, in any case, affirms that it has no official or unofficial notification of the proposed Anti-Violence sanction. Hence, it is not manifested, they have in the entity, about the reason for ignoring the arguments to propose said sanction that rises to 60,000 euros.
Sanctions against Osasuna and Celta
The Anti-Violence Commission has also agreed to propose two serious sanctions of €20,000 each to Osasuna Athletic Club for allowing numerous fans invaded the evacuation routes of the stadium remaining standing during the celebration of several matches without putting any type of measures to avoid it, thereby causing crowds in certain areas inside the sports venue.
Antiviolence reminds all football clubs that these attitudes or behaviors carry a considerable risk if necessary an evacuation of the stands or the emergency services had to access itas well as a serious risk for the spectators who stand in the front row leaning on the front fence due to the danger of detachment in the event of a sudden movement of fans in the stands, something that has already occurred in some football fields in previous seasons.
On the other hand, the Anti-Violence Commission has proposed for the sanction of €30,000 to the Royal Celtic Club of Vigo for allowing a large group of spectators -fans of the local team- invaded the field of play during the match between Real Club Celta de Vigo “B” – Real Club Deportivo de La Coruña SAD (declared high risk), who went to the area where the fans of the visiting team were, in front of which they made all kinds of provocative gestures and serious insults. Deportivo de La Coruña supporters responded by throwing pieces of plastic seat from the stadium seats onto the pitch.
Likewise, Antiviolence has declared the following football matches to be high risk: Villarreal-Liverpool, Real Madrid-City and Atlético-Real Madrid.
