Omer Yagmur, Club President of Bellona Kayseri Basketball, one of the Herbalife Nutrition Women’s Basketball League teams, resigned.
Bellona Kayseri Basketball Club President Ömer Yağmur, who lost all 6 matches in the 2021 – 2022 season, announced his resignation.
In the written statement made by the club, “Our team, which has been fighting in the Women’s Basketball Super League for 16 years, is fighting to hold on to the league as of the point reached, but unfortunately it has not been able to find the necessary financial support. It should be reminded that almost all the other teams in the league, except for the big three, are made up of teams supported by the municipality, as the only youth club, fighting against our opponents has worn us out in these conditions. Finally, the fact that we couldn’t find the necessary money for the Israel road trip we had to go on Wednesday led me to this path in order not to block the way for the team any more. Despite all the attempts we have made, I would like to say with regret that I am very worn out in the struggle to keep the team alive. As a result, I state that I have resigned from the chairmanship and the board of directors, to pave the way for the team and to make a ‘Hope’ team live, and I present my respects to the public.
