Burak Elmas, President of Galatasaray Sports Club, talked about what happened in the hall during the Anadolu Efes – Galatasaray match, the Basketball League play-off match played in the past days. Elmas said, “Our friends were tried to be removed from the hall one by one. “Some of our professional friends may have been offended when Galatasaray put up such a strong fight at that level,” he said.

Burak Elmas, President of Galatasaray Sports Club, who made a statement at the sponsorship agreement ceremony with the 1905 Galatasaray Managers and Businessmen Association, clarified what was done against him and the members of the Galatasaray Board of Directors in the match played with A.Efes. Mentioning that there were organizational mistakes in the hall, Chairman Elmas said, “We went to the 1st game and we got very good results. There were no problems, but in the second match, many events took place rather than the place where only me, the President of Galatasaray Sports Club, should sit. Many of our friends, who were our members on the tickets given to us, were tried to be expelled from there one by one. Unfortunately, there was an organizational disorder,” he said.

“I guess Galatasaray was not expected to compete at that level”

Stating that the Galatasaray men’s basketball team put up a good fight, Chairman Elmas said, “There may have been organizational errors due to the initiative of some professional friends here or the discomfort they felt from the first game. As Galatasaray Sports Club, we have already shown the necessary reaction. The sad thing here is that we are the first club to celebrate their European success. Galatasaray probably wasn’t expected to fight at that level. “Some of our professional friends may have been offended when Galatasaray put up such a strong fight at that level,” he said.
