Zach Taylor will remain Cincinnati Bengals head coach for the 2026 season; “Zak came into the league and worked to build the foundations for a winning program that could become successful over time,” said Bengals president Mike Brown.

The Cincinnati Bengals have signed head coach Zach Taylor to a contract extension that will keep him at the helm for the 2026 season.

Although the flagship game ended up being a disappointment for the Bengals with a 23–20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, Taylor was rewarded with a new deal.

Since taking over the Bengals at the start of the 2019 season, Taylor has made one of the most incredible turns in NFL history. The 38-year-old led them to a 2-14 campaign in his first year. In 2020 they improved to 4-11-1 before finishing 10-7 and winning the AFC Championship last season.

Taylor was entering the final season of an initial four-year contract he signed in 2019.

“Zak came into the league and worked to build the foundations for a winning program that could become successful over time,” said Bengals president Mike Brown.

“The fruits of Zach’s efforts have been visible this year and Zach is highly regarded by our players and coaches. I know how much effort and passion Zach brings to the building and to our team, and I’m happy with his approach. And I think the city of Cincinnati sees him the way we do with the players. He brought excitement to the city and deserves praise and recognition for this.”

Despite losing the Super Bowl, the Bengals are looking to build on an impressive 2021 season.

“Obviously it stings,” Burrow said after the loss. “But we had a great year. The last game didn’t come out the way we wanted. We still have something to celebrate.

“We have to let it feed us for the rest of our career. We’re going to at least celebrate what we’ve done this year.”
