Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman, who closed the week of double matches in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with losses, made remarkable statements after the Partizan match.
Anadolu Efes, the champion of the last 2 years in EuroLeague, made a bad start to the season, but they were out with 5 wins in a row. That winning streak came to an end this week. The Navy-Whites lost 82-79 to Baskonia (83-79) at home and then to Obradovic’s Partizan away from Serbia.
Coach Ergin Ataman made interesting statements after the Partizan match:
“EuroLeague is very difficult this year, every game feels like a final. When we win important games, our players are perfect, but when we lose, I take full responsibility. All of a sudden I become a very bad coach and become someone who doesn’t know how to organize his team. That’s why we lose. I’m to blame. I’m a very bad head coach, so we won’t be EuroLeague champions. I even forgot to coach. It’s a very balanced league. I don’t know who will win the championship but I’m sure we won’t be, because I’m a very bad coach. I’m not angry with myself but with the situation we’re in. I am very angry because of it”
