Taking the trophy to its museum for the second time by beating Real Madrid 58-57 in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague final, Anadolu Efes visited Anıtkabir, the eternal resting place of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, as a team. The dark blue and white people came to Atatürk’s mausoleum by walking from the Lion Road. After Head Coach Ergin Ataman laid a wreath at the mausoleum, a moment of silence was held and the National Anthem was sung. After the ceremony, Ataman went to the National Pact Tower and signed the Anıtkabir Special Book.

“OUR PLAYERS MADE HISTORY”

Ergin Ataman, who made a statement at the exit of Anıtkabir, said: “We continue our tradition. Last year, we were champions and we brought the first trophy to Anıtkabir after coming to Turkey. This season, we succeeded in winning the biggest trophy of Europe with a great struggle. “We played a tough match against Real Madrid in Belgrade 3 days ago. Again, when we returned, we first came to our Father’s presence. We are very happy in this respect. We do not stop. We have to go further. From here, upon the invitation of our President, we presented our trophy to the highest office of our state.” “Our players made history. They won the Euroleauge championship twice in a row, making them the 3rd team in European history to hold this title.”
