While Anadolu Efes faced Partizan under Zeljko Obradovic in Serbia, Dusan Ivkovic, one of the former coaches of the two teams who lost his life in the morning, was also commemorated in front of the fans with respect.
Anadolu Efes, one of our Turkish Airlines EuroLeague representatives, faced Partizan away in the friendly match. While Efes lost 92-85 to its away rival under Zeljko Obradovic, they said goodbye to Dusan Ivkovic at Stark Arena.
A minute’s silence was held before the game played in Belgrade, where Dusan Ivkovic was born and died at the age of 77, while 15,000 fans bid farewell to the legend of European basketball. Before the match, the two teams took their place on the field with a banner reading “Thank you Duda”.
Dusan Ivkovic started his career as a head coach at the A-teams level with Partizan, and ended his career as a head coach with Anadolu Efes.
