Jordan Love made 19 of 34 assists for 190 yards, making one touchdown and one interception in his first career start; his first TD in the NFL tosses 20 yards to Allen Lazard in the fourth quarter; Patrick Mahomes goes 20 out of 37 for 166 yards and one TD

The Kansas City Chiefs won a casual 13-7 win over Green Bay, beating Jordan Love in his first NFL start for the Packers.

The Chiefs, leading the league in rallies this season – 19 to their first eight games – have at least escaped any losses, but their usually explosive charge totaled just 237 yards of total offense, 64 of which came from their initial attack.

Patrick Mahomes, who only completed 20 assists out of 37 for 166 yards, found Travis Kelsey for a touchdown, completing a 15-game pass in his first attacking streak. But Kansas City will add just two second-quarter field goals to their tally.

As for the Packers, who had to do without reigning league MVP Aaron Rogers after his much-publicized absence from Covid-19, they understandably fell short of the attack on Love’s first career.

Year two, the quarterback went 19 of 34 for 190 yards, making one touchdown and one interception. His first touchdown in the NFL, 20 yards ahead of Allen Lazard, came with four minutes and 54 seconds to go, as Green Bay briefly threatened a late comeback, only for the Chiefs to finish the rest of the time.

Packers will eventually curse some of the previously costly mistakes. Mason Crosby conceded a 40-meter wide from left in the first quarter while he got another block to finish their next streak. In addition, Love’s interception – a pass intended to Davantha Adams, repulsed by L’Jarius Snead – killed a promising race in the fourth quarter that reached Kansas City’s 24-yard line.
