Intercollegiate 2nd Division Basketball Competitions Started in Ordu

The opening ceremony of the 2nd League Basketball Competitions, which will be hosted by Ordu University (ODU) on 20-24 December by the Turkish University Sports Federation, was held.

The ceremony held at the School of Physical Education and Sports Indoor Sports Hall was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan, Director of the School of Physical Education and Sports Prof. Dr. Alpaslan İnce, academic and administrative staff and students attended.

In the 2nd Division Basketball Competitions, the men’s basketball teams of Ordu University, Sinop University, Gümüşhane University, Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University and Hitit University took part.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Rector Akdoğan said, “I would like to express my pleasure to host you in the 2nd Division Basketball Competitions hosted by our university. These kinds of events are the ones that add beauty to the universities, where sportsmanship and unity are experienced, as well as sports activities. We will continue such sports activities with the support of our Health, Culture and Sports Department under the leadership of our School of Physical Education and Sports with our 18 thousand students. I wish success to each of the teams participating in the competitions, I wish that the player will win a tournament, and I thank each and every one of you individually.

ODU won the match between Ordu University and Hitit University before the ceremony with a score of 63-51. Program Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Akdoğan’s Women’s 2nd Division Basketball Competitions ended with the presentation of a trophy to the Ordu University Women’s Basketball Team, which won the championship.
