The New York Jets lost to quarterback Mike White – so impressive in winning his first NFL start last week – with a first-quarter forearm injury; Josh Johnson has thrown a record 317 yards and landed three times in his place, but also lost fumble and intercepted.

Jonathan Taylor ran 172 yards and two touchdowns, while Carson Wentz went 272 yards and threw three TDs when the Indianapolis Colts took 45-30 wins against the New York Jets on Thursday night.

Wentz also connected on landing shots to Michael Pittman Jr., Jack Doyle, and attacking lineman Danny Pinter as the Colts opened up a massive 45-10 lead in the third quarter before the Jets added a few consolation points.

The Jets lost to quarterback Mike White – so impressively winning their first start in the NFL last week – with a forearm injury in the first quarter. His replacement, journeyman Josh Johnson, threw a record 317 yards and three touchdowns (along with groping and interception), but the Jets were never really competitive in this match.

Following the win, the Colts will move to 4-5 in the season, still tied for second in AFC South, while the Jets will drop to 2-6 in AFC East.

Indianapolis hit first in the game when the Hines exploded and scored 34 yards in their first attacking streak.

White responded by leveling the score with a 19-yard pass to rookie receiver Elijah Moore for his first NFL touchdown of his career. But a few moves earlier, White had been hit by DeForest on his throwing hand, which subsequently prevented him from participating in the remainder of the game.

The Colts came out ahead with a nice courtesy of Taylor’s 21-yard run on their next possession, and they extended their lead to 21-7 as Wentz found Doyle’s tight end with a one-yard shovel pass after Johnson fumbled for the Jets.
