Cristiano Piccini is no longer a Valencia player. The Italian side, who went to the Sports City on Thursday morning to collect his personal belongings, is leaving the Mestalla club to start a new stage in his career. Piccini will play for Red Star in Belgrade until June 2024 and is free.
Mitar Mrkela, the sports director of the Serbian team on the club’s official television gave the first keys to the agreement. “Valencia has accepted the conditions for the transfer of Piccini. You can never say for sure in football, but I think we will soon have it at the Red Star. ”
Piccini arrived at Valencia in July 2018 and this season the contract ended. After more than two years recovering from a severe knee injury, the Italian has returned to play this season under the command of Bordalás and has participated in six games between the League and the Cup. The Mestalla club had no plans to renew his contract and is leaving now ( with the post covered by Correia and Foulquier) opens a new professional stage in a less competitive league than the Spanish in which he can regain sensations and shine again.
