Russell Wilson insisted that “storms don’t always last” as he and the Denver Broncos hope to rectify their poor start to the season with a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley on Sunday.

Russell Wilson is poised to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London Sunday, Denver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett said Wednesday.

“I feel great and ready to fight,” he said. “I’m very locked in and hopefully [we] can get a big win in London. Obviously, this should be a key game for us. We play a really good football team.

“I think both of our records don’t necessarily reflect who we are, so I think there will be a lot of great football. It will be great to be back at Wembley. [Stadium] again. I remember the last time I had to play here; it was something special. The environment is amazing. This is world class. I’m excited to start skating.”

Wilson noted that he took advantage of the flight to the UK to continue training with Broncos personnel in an attempt to prepare for the crucial Week 8 event in Denver.

“What was it? Eight hours to fly here. The first two hours I watched the movie, watched all the cuts and everything,” he said. “For the next four hours, I was treated on the plane. I walked up and down the aisles.

“Everyone else was knocked out. I did high knees, worked on my legs and everything, and made sure I was ready to rock. It was good.

“Then in the last two hours I fell asleep for one hour and then watched the rest of the movie. It was nice to go when we got back and [Strength and Conditioning] Trainer [Loren Landow] did a great job. Coach Landow and the entire coaching staff made us make a small move. We got here, moved around a bit, and I worked on myself and did it all. Then I may have rested for two or three hours when I got home. I feel great”.

Broncos safety Justin Simmons welcomed the eventual return of Wilson, who has just completed 58.6 percent and currently has an 83.4 quarterback rating in the campaign.

“It’s obviously going to be very important for us,” Simmons told reporters. “We are talking about [future] Hall of Fame Defender. For us to have him, to have his lead and to have him on the attacking side of the ball, that will be very important to us.
