A National Women’s Basketball Team started the qualifiers with a win by defeating Slovenia 78-62 in the first match of the FIBA 2023 European Basketball Championship Qualification Group D.
The Fairies of the Crucible closed the first period of the game ahead 27-14, and the first half ahead 46-20. A National Team, which closed the third period of the match ahead 64-38, won the fight 78-62. Olcay Çakır Turgut struggled with 16 points in Perileri of the Crucible, while Oblak in Slovenia became the top scorer of the game with 21 points.
Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) Board Members Gökhan Dinçer, Hüseyin Beşok, Ömer Onan, Serap Köz Yücesir, Emine Sporel Özakat, Serhan Antalyalı, Resul Kerse, Alper Arıkoğlu, Aydın Şerbetçioğlu, Efe Oğuz and TBF officials and Herbalife Nutrition Women’s Basketball Super League executives followed suit.
Turkey will face Poland in the second match of the group on Sunday, November 14 in Kocaeli.
