Altınordu, one of the well-established clubs of İzmir, experienced great sadness with the death of former basketball player Sabri Turmak.
National basketball player Sabri Turmak, who was in the legendary team of Altınordu, which became the champion of Turkey in the 1966-67 season, passed away at the age of 80 due to a relentless illness. Turmak’s funeral will be buried in Çeşme, after the funeral prayer that will be held at Bostanlı Beşikçioğlu Mosque tomorrow at noon.
In his condolence message from the Izmir team, “Sabri Turmak, one of our legendary basketball players, who was in the squad where our Golden Horde became the champion of Turkey in basketball, passed away.
