The Granada Prosecutor’s Office has requested a sentence of 18 months in prison for the Venezuelan international soccer player Darwin Machís, who plays for Granada, as the alleged perpetrator of two crimes of injury to two workers at a cafeteria during a fight that occurred last year.

The events date back to the night of April 4, 2021, when Machís and two more defendants appeared in a cafeteria in the Granada town of Churriana de la Vega where a worker and a cook from the establishment were, according to the indictment advanced this Friday by the web portal NowGranada.

In it, the prosecutor maintains that the defendants got off “hurriedly” of the vehicle acting in concert, after hitting another car that was in the area, and that a fight then broke out between the two employees of the premises and the defendants.

The writing indicates that Machís and his two companions exchanged blows with the complainants with “the intention of undermining the physical integrity of each other” and that, subsequently, all the defendants left the place aboard the car.

As a result of these events, the two workers were injured.with injuries that took thirty days to heal, twenty of them preventative, while the 29-year-old Venezuelan winger of Granada was also injured, taking fourteen days to heal and seven of which were prevented, although he did not file a complaint.

In addition to 18 months in prisonthe Prosecutor’s Office asks that Machís and the other two defendants compensate the two local employees with 4,725 euros and 1,525 euros, respectively, for the consequences and injuries caused, as Granada now specifies.
