17-year-old athlete Elanur Menteş, who learned that his heart was a congenital hole in the hospital where he went to get a medical report, succeeded in promoting to the A team in ÇBK Mersin Yenişehir Belediyespor, his club, where he started working again after his treatment.
Elanur, who was competing in the Women’s Basketball Super League, decided to be appointed to the A team squad in January, and went to a private hospital in the city to obtain a health visa to be used in licensing procedures.
The young basketball player, who was saddened when he learned that he had a congenital hole in his heart during the examinations performed at the health institution, decided to undergo an operation with the support of his family, coaches, teammates and doctors.
The hole in the heart of Elanur, who was treated at the hospital in February, was closed by angiography.
The young athlete, who recovered after the successful operation, returned to his teammates in the infrastructure after a while and started working.
Elanur, who attracted the attention of his teachers with his determination and ambition in training, was promoted to the A team with his successful performance.
He scored 8 points in his first game
The young athlete made his debut with the team that hosted Samsun Canik Belediyespor in the 25th week of Herbalife Nutrition Women’s Basketball Super League.
Elanur started his basketball career with great passion at the age of 9, and scored 8 points in the first match he wore with the A team uniform, taking 26 minutes and 33 seconds.
The young basketball player, who was excited to play in the Metropolitan Municipality Adana Basketball match in the last week of the league and regular season, also took time in the second match of the play-off quarter final series between ÇBK Mersin Yenişehir Beledispor and Nesibe Aydın.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), Elanur Menteş said that he has been playing basketball since his childhood.
Stating that he had no problem with his heart until this time, Elanur said, “When we went to the hospital with my professor to get a medical report, many procedures were performed. Finally, a small hole was detected in the test about my heart. I never expected such a thing. There was no such thing in my family. I was very surprised and sad. ” used the expressions.
Stating that he decided to have surgery with the support of his relatives, the young basketball player stated that he felt the fear of not being able to return to basketball, which he loved so much, during the period he waited to regain his health after the operation.
Explaining that he felt great joy when he first stepped onto the parquet after the treatment process, Elanur said, “I was excited. I was away from my teammates for a long time. I was happy to see them. I started training with fitness exercises because I was away for 2 months. It was a bit of a difficult process. I had difficulties. My teachers and teammates were very helpful and supported. ” he spoke.
The young athlete emphasized that he started to step into the most special moments of his career and said, “One of my biggest dreams was to be able to join the A team. I was very excited when I played the first game. It was beautiful and at first it was very proud. I want to develop myself more. Since I am small, there are many ways. In front of me. My other dream is to wear a national team uniform. ” found the assessment.
