Nat Sciver scored a century as England prepared for the defense of their Women’s World Cup title with victory over Bangladesh

Nat Sciver shot 108 of 101 balls in England’s dominant 109-run Women’s World Cup tune-up victory over Bangladesh in Lincoln, New Zealand.

Sciver broke nine fours while starter Lauren Winfield-Hill hit 55 of 43 balls.

Tammy Beaumont had 38, Captain Heather Knight 27, Amy Jones 22 and Danni Wyatt 16 contributed.

A late cameo from Emma Lamb, going 28-for-20, then took England to 310-9 which Bangladesh never seemed to come close to.

Despite getting off to a decent start to their innings, as starter Shamima Sultana made 33 and number three Sharmin Akhter 81, Bangladesh fell short on her 201, with Sciver, Charlie Dean and Freya Davies taking two wickets.

“Lauren is a naturally aggressive player,” Sciver told BBC Sport. “She and Tammy gave us a great start.

“I wouldn’t want to be a coach and I don’t know what the order will be in our next warm-up game.”

The World Cup kicks off on Friday when New Zealand take on the West Indies (01:00 GMT), while England kick off their campaign against Australia in Hamilton at the same time on Saturday.

Watch England take on Australia in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Cricket from 12.30am on Saturday 5th March.
