LThe Federation has made public the calendars in which all its competitions will be framed, in the absence of the final draw of matches that will take place on Wednesday, June 30. From LaLiga Santander or SmartBank, to the Junior Honor Division, through the Ibedrola League and Reto Iberdrola, in addition to the new First, Second and Third RFEF. As MARCA announced, professional football begins on the weekend of August 13, 14 and 15, while the First RFEF will start on Sunday 29 of this month.
The Copa del Rey debuts with the previous tie for Wednesday, November 17, with the first tie being played on December 1. The semifinals of the Spain Supercup will be held on January 12 and 13, 2022, while the grand finale will be played on the 16th of the same month.
Christmas, New Year’s Eve and five days on Wednesday
Five weekdays are planned for the 2021-22 season: September 22, October 27, January 19, April 20 and finally May 11. There will be parties at Christmas, although the previous days are free. Will be played three games on December 31, in which geographical proximity will prevail, and the rest will remain until January 2, 2022.
This year there is one more FIFA record: January has an extra stoppage of national teams from February 24-22. It is a novelty, and it will be mandatory for all confederations except UEFA. The rest: from August 30 to September 8 the first. The second is in October. In November the third break from 8 to 16. March ‘will suffer’ the fourth: from 21 to 29 and the last will be from May 30 to June 14.
In Second, the playoff promotion will end on June 19.
One Cup in five months
The Copa del Rey final is scheduled for Saturday April 23rd. This was one of the points of friction between RFEF and LaLiga: clean up from other games this day. The day of that weekend will be brought forward to Wednesday, April 19. The Cup begins with the preliminary tie on November 17, in December the first two ties will be played and the January 5 First teams make their appearance. Coinciding with the Super Cup weekend on January 15, the knockout round will be played. The quarters will be on February 2 and the 9 the first leg of the semifinals to be decided on March 2.
