Nesibe Aydın Youth Sports Club (GSK) Women’s Basketball Team President Mirkan Aydın said, “Last year, we had our first experience in European cups. We were unlucky in the last 16. We have a quarter and semi-final goal this year. We trust our athletes.”

Club president Mirkan Aydın, honorary chairman of the board of directors Nesibe Aydın, team head coach Erman Okerman, athletes, technical committee and students attended the meeting. At the meeting, the club’s new transfers and team staff were introduced.

Speaking here, Nesibe Aydın stated that their founding purpose is not only academic success, and said, “We want to raise our children in the best way, not only for academic success, but also in art, sports and science. We want our women to be strong in every field and to be ahead in art, sports, science and politics. “We attach great importance to women’s employment. This allows us to be successful in every sense. Hopefully, we want the success we have shown in women’s basketball since the 6 years we were founded to continue to increase. We put a lot of effort into this. We have a really strong staff,” he said.

Expressing that they will compete with a young team in the new season, Club President Mirkan Aydın said, “We have made our team quite young. The main reason for this is that we are a school team. We want to carry the identity of a college team in our future. We will fight with athletes, each of whom is young, but with very high ideals and very high sporting ambitions. We also set goals. Within this rejuvenation operation, we achieved the third and fourth places in the first two seasons. This year we have a goal above them too. Head coach Erman Okerman, emphasizing that they have done a good job in the Süper Lig for two seasons, said, “We played the play-off semi-finals in both seasons. It was a good experience for us to be in the top 16 in the European cup, it was a first. A number of rule changes this season. There has been a change in the number and content of foreigners. In fact, it is a rule change that will completely shake up and change this league. I think clubs that use this well will go higher, and clubs that cannot benefit more from it will stay lower. We followed a suitable setup and transfer policy. I hope We will see its positive reflections. Of course, our goal is always to play in the final if we can make it in the Turkish league.
