The rain prevented any play on the fifth day of the first test between England and India
England and India were denied a chance to play what promised to be a thrilling finale to Test 1, as day five at Trent Bridge faded away.
The match was tantalizingly balanced with India 52-1, needing another 157 to win, and England required another nine wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the five-game series.
However, the rain throughout the day kept the players out of the field and the match ended in a draw with the decision to abandon the game of the day at 3.30 pm.
It means the series remains square as the sides head to Lord’s for the second test, which begins Thursday.
