Bellona Kayseri Women’s Basketball Team lost 80-70 to Hungarian representative Szeskzard in their first match in FIBA Europa League Qualifying Group A.
Szeskzard led 18-15 in the first period and 38-31 in the first half of the match, which was held at the Sepsi Arena in Sfantu Gheorghe, Romania.
Szeskzard, who increased the lead to 9 points (52-61) before the last quarter, won the fight 80-70.
Milic from Szeskzard was the field’s top scorer with 23 points. Dean scored 17 points and Williams 12 points in Bellona Kayseri Basketball.
Bellona Kayseri Basketball will play its second and last game in the group against Sepsi, the host of the qualifying tournament, on Thursday, September 23.
The team that finished the group as the leader will compete in the regular season groups of the FIBA Women’s Europa League, and the teams in the 2nd and 3rd place will compete in the regular season groups of the FIBA Women’s European Cup.
