Turkey, which is in Group A at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games in men’s wheelchair basketball, lost to the host Japan 67-55 in the fifth match.

The national team, which had previously guaranteed to reach the quarter-finals, finished the group in 3rd place with 3 wins and 2 losses. The crescent-star team will match with the team that finished Group B in the 3rd place in the quarter-finals.

Completing the first quarter of the match played at Musashino Forest Sports Hall 12-9 ahead, the national team went 28-27 behind to the locker room.

Japan, which closed the third quarter with a 45-44 lead, widened the gap in the last quarter, where it defended well, and left the field with a 67-55 win, finishing second in the group after Spain.

Hiroaki Kozai from Japan was the top scorer of the match with 22 points. In the national team, Uğur Toprak’s 17 points were not enough to win.

Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu also followed the match.
