Zeynepgül Onay Ene has been appointed as the General Director of Galatasaray Women’s Basketball Branch. Zeynepgül Onay Ene, who was born in Istanbul in 1969 and grew up in a sports family, graduated from Galatasaray High School (120) and Boğaziçi University, Department of Political Science and International Relations. Ene, who speaks English and French, is married and has two sons.
Ene, who first met the yellow and red jersey in the school team in 1982 when he was just 13 years old, later became the captain of the Invincible Armada, which was 7 times Turkish Champion in Galatasaray club, and carried the Turkey and Presidential Cups to the Galatasaray museum. Ene, who wore the national jersey for 54 times, continued his career as a basketball player, which ended at an early age due to injury. Between 1996 and 2007, he served as the head coach of the youth youth and youth national teams.
During the “Football for All” directorate, where he worked in the TFF Football Development Directorate unit between 2007 and 2012, he led many projects for the development and dissemination of children’s, women’s, handicapped football, astroturf, football and beach football.
Ene, who served as the Manager of the Women’s National Basketball Team in 2017-2018, worked as the Coordinator of the Youth Women’s Basketball National Teams between 2018-2021 to plan the development of young basketball girls and to prepare young athletes for the future of Turkish women’s basketball.
